Jessica Stone of Naples, Florida is 18 years old. She was born "singing" and has been performing since the age of 4 in recitals, theatre, school and church.
While in middle school, Jessica had the role of Elphaba in the Sugden Theatre Kidz Act performance of Wicked. At the age of 14, she sang and danced in Disney Magic Music Days at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. In 2009, Jessica appeared in Children For the Arts Foundation local presentations of The Wizard of Oz, a Musical Comedy (Wicked Witch of the West) and Peter Pan (Mrs. Darling, and a Female Pirate) In the summer of 2010, Jessica attended the US Performing Arts Camps Musical Theatre Program at The University of Miami.
2011 was a busy year for this rising star. Jessica "wowed" locals and visitors during vocal performances on 5th Avenue at the Naples Mardi Gras, the annual Chalk Art Festival, the popular Evening on 5th, the Pink is Power breast cancer awareness benefit, and the 5th Ave Christmas Walk. At the Collier County Fair, she sang main stage both solo and duet selections from Phantom of the Opera, Westside Story and Grease. Jessica played the role of Miss Hannigan in her high school's presentation of Annie, she danced a combo jazz/ballet routine in the spring recital of the Back Stage Dance Academy, and sang and danced in Children For Arts Foundation's "The Hollywood Kids." In addition, Jessica sang our national anthem at the Winged Foot Scholarship Foundation 22nd annual awards banquet and performed at the Cancer Alliance of Naples 3rd annual benefit. She attended a musical theatre workshop at UCLA where she had the opportunity to train with award winning actress Karen Morrow. At Italian Fest in Fort Myers, Jessica sang an Italian aria representing Opera Naples. And she appeared in the Opera Naples/Theatre Zone performance of Showboat.
2012 looks to be just as busy. Jessica appeared in Opera Naples' performances of Don Giovanni and Faust. She sang our National Anthem at a Red Sox game at the new JetBlue Park and appeared in her high school's presentation of The King and I. Jessica continues to perform regularly on 5th Avenue. In June, she will again dance in the annual recital of the Backstage Dance Academy.
Jessica studied classical voice at Naples Royal Conservatory of Music and Opera Naples. She has recorded a 7 song CD titled Someday under the direction of her performance mentor Tish Poorman. Her wide ranging repertoire of classical, Broadway, jazz, R & B and pop songs showcases her vocal versatility. Jessica also plays the piano.
In addition to her vocal, theatrical, and dance endeavors, Jessica is an accomplished English Saddleseat Equestrian. She and her Morgan horses Ms Hot Tamale and Gladiator competed locally and regionally, winning many blue ribbons along the way. Jessica was awarded the High School Equestrian Athlete title from the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), and she and Gladiator are on the cover of the USEF brochure for middle and high school equestrian riding programs.
Jessica is excited to soon begin her undergraduate studies at The University of Tampa where she will pursue a degree in Performing Arts (Musical Theatre.)
